Information about the study - Learning, Memory, and Performance Changes With Aging
We are currently conducting several studies concerning how learning, memory, and performance change with aging. We seek healthy adult volunteers. Most of our studies require people who are either 18-25 years old or who are 65 years of age and older. The study is conducted in our laboratory in the White Gravenor Building at Georgetown. Some of our studies take only one testing session whereas others involve returning for several sessions. Our studies usually consist of simple tasks during which the person’s response times and accuracy are recorded. In all cases, people are paid for participating, with the amount depending on the number and length of the sessions. For those who wish to drive, free parking is provided next to the White Gravenor Building. We look forward to meeting you!

Full Details of the laboratory - Cognitive Aging Lab
Our lab investigates which cognitive and neural systems decline, and which are spared, in the course of aging. We focus especially on learning and memory. Our studies are designed to figure out not only which components of learning and memory are most affected by age, but also how learning and memory can be maximized at all ages. Our work is funded by the National Institute on Aging (NIA).
